Arkansas Farm Bureau will join Arkansas veterans, the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, the Arkansas Agriculture Department and other agriculture leaders at the Cooper Alumni Center at Arkansas State University for the inaugural Veterans 4 Ag Summit on Friday, Oct. 6.

In a unique twist of fate, former Arkansas State University roommates Austin Kennon and Chris Damron earned the top two Young Farmers and Ranchers awards. The two were honored Monday at Arkansas Farm Bureau’s 69th Officers & Leaders Conference at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

More young farm women are voluntarily giving their time to Arkansas Farm Bureau on the state and county level. Peggy Miller chairs the Arkansas Farm Bureau state women’s committee and Donna Bemis serves as vice-chairwoman. The annual state women’s conference was held recently and they took time to discuss the committee’s projects and why it’s important to get more farm women involved to advocate for agriculture.
