Arkansas corn growers are grinning. They planted a state record 890,000 acres and projections are at 180 bushels per acre (up from 173 last year). Planting more and harvesting higher yields makes a farmer happy.

Nearly 300 cyclists and more than 50 farmers gathered at Evans Farms in Benton County for the first Gravel and Farmer Community Night. The event gathered farmers and cyclists from across Northwest Arkansas for food and fellowship and allowed them to learn from one another and share their respect for rural roads, with a focus on safety.
