AGCAST: Summer Food Price Survey Released
While American farmers and ranchers continue to endure some of the most depressed market prices since the Great Depression, consumer food prices remain very affordable according to American Farm Bureau’s annual Summer Cookout Survey. The total average cost of 14 items included in the summer grilling survey was $55.07 or around $5.50 per person. That’s down 63 cents, or less than one percent from 2017. In this edition of Arkansas AgCast Dr. John Newton, director of market intelligence for AFBF, discusses the survey results and what consumers may expect as they shop for their 4th of July cookouts.
