PODCAST: NE Arkansas Flooding

Between 10 and 15 inches of rain earlier this month caused the Black River in northeast Arkansas to flood for the third time this year. Many farmers were preparing to harvest their crops but now will not be able to. And, to compound the problem, army worms have destroyed hundreds of acres of pasture that weren’t affected by the flood. Rice and soybean farmer Doug Cox of Randolph County and Mike Andrews, staff chair of the county Cooperative Extension Service discuss the severity of the damage throughout the region.
