LITTLE ROCK — Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Co. soon will give drivers a break on their car insurance rates in Arkansas.
Effective June 1, newly insured motorists and those who renew will receive an overall average reduction of more than 8 percent in their insurance premiums.
Included in the rate change is an increase in the auto/homeowner discount. This discount is available to policyholders who insure both their autos with Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company and their homes with Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Arkansas, Inc.
Higher deductible options will also be available with the rate change. Options for $1,000 and $2,500 deductibles will be available for comprehensive coverage. Options for $2,500 and $5,000 deductibles will be available for collision coverage. Comprehensive coverage pays for vehicle damage from losses due to storms, theft, fire, vandalism and glass breakage. Collision coverage pays for vehicle damage from losses occurring when an insured vehicle hits another vehicle or object.
The rate adjustment also includes revisions to other rating factors such as territory and class codes. Due to the combination of adjustments and discounts, many, but not all, policyholders will see a decrease in their premium. |
