Reed receives Farm Bureau/Dodge FFA grant

Kyle Reed of Morrow (Washington County) has been selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by Farm Bureau, Dodge Division of DaimlerChrysler and Superior Auto Mall of Siloam Springs. Reed is one of 50 recipients from across the United States to receive the Dodge-funded grant.

A member of the Lincoln FFA Chapter, the high school senior plans to study food science and technology at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Dodge dealers award the scholarships to college-bound FFA members who also are from Farm Bureau families. Reed is the son of Washington County Farm Bureau members Kenny and Tina Reed.

In its ninth year, the scholarship programs rewards FFA members for their supervised agricultural experience programs, academic achievements and other school and community accomplishments.

FFA is a national youth organization of more than half a million student-members preparing for careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture. It has more than 7,000 local chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Arkansas Farm Bureau is a nonprofit, private advocacy organization of more than 227,000 families throughout the state working to improve farm and rural life.
