Front Porch Memories returns
We are people of our past. Its recollection, at times, washes over us unannounced.
A song.
Scent.
Sight.
Or sound.
All can trigger a memory that makes the past present, the old young again, and the presence of people and things as real as if we were there again. We crave that connection. It is emotional food that sates our worldly soul; gives balance and context in the face of future uncertainty.
When I started as editor of Front Porch, I inherited a box full of hundreds of memories entombed on paper.
They were fascinating.
They were rich.
They were full of life.
They needed telling.
There was no way to tell them all using the magazine. So we’ve created this “Front Porch Memories” Web page to let them all live again. Linger however long you desire. There’s a rich Arkansas heritage here. Enjoy.
